Reflection: It was easy to find all the Maori words because I got to use the Maori dictionary.

WALT: We are learning new words in Te Reo Maori.

Reflection: It was a bit hard to do my reflection because I didn't know what to write. It was easy to write the Maori words for my work and the English translation.

 WALT: We are learning new words in Te Reo Maori.

Reflection: It was hard for me to find out some of the Maori words without a Maori dictionary.

Question: How could you learn Te Reo Maori?

How to make fruit gummies

WALT: We are learning to follow a recipe.

Step 1: Wash your hands.

Step 2: Cut up some fruit.

Step 3: Squeeze 120ml of your fruit juice into a bowl.

Step 4: Pour the fruit juice into a melting cup.

Step 5: Then put 3 tablespoons of gelatin into the melting cup.

Step 6: Then add 2 tablespoons of honey into the melting cup.

Step 7: Then mix it.

Step 8: Pour the fruit into the molds.

Step 9: Wait 15-30 mins before eating. 

Step 10: Get them out of the molds and then you can eat.

Reflection: My favorite part about making the fruit gummies was probably Squeezing the fruit juice into a bowl because it was satisfying.

Prototec

 WALT: we are learning to quickly calculate number problems.

Reflection: When I was doing the fractions and percentages they were quit hard so I might need a little practice on it to get better.

Question: What do you find hard in maths and how could you get better at it? 

Our School Values

WALT: We are learning to show good values

To show excellence you need to work hard and never give up. To show diversity you need to respect others by not judging them because everyone is different.To show kaitiakitanga don’t litter and put your rubbish in the bin and don't throw it away somewhere that's not good and save animals because they are important to us. To show integrity You have to be honest and don’t lie. 

Reflection: by showing your values it could help to get more work done more work done.

Matletics

WALT: We are learning to solve maths problems and win class of the week.

                                                                                                                           
Reflection: If you want to get class of the week you have to go into mathletics and your whole class has to get the most gold bars and points by the end of the week and you win. our goal is to get class of the week lots.

  Reflection: It was easy to do the maths and I liked doing the maths the most because Im good at it I think that's why I liked it. next time im going to get all the questions right.

Reflection: A learning map shows a whole lot of learning on it of what and who helps you learn a squiggly arrow means there is a bit of learning in it but your bit confused a skinny arrow shows a little bit of learning and a fat arrow shows lots of learning for example if my teacher learns from me and I learn from my teacher there will be and arrow on each end and if I only learn from my teacher there will be an arrow on on end.

Cross Country

WALT: We are learning to set goals and how we can achieve them.




In cross country my goals are      to do a lots of laps without stopping. my next goal is to keep a good paste. and my last goal is to win cross country.

Reflection: It was hard to find some goals to write and I found it easy to do my question.

Project Energiser

WALT: We are learning to keep healthy and active

Reflection: When we did project energiser with morgana it was fun when we played this game there were to teams and balls
there was a group of people in the middle of the court and they had to get the ball to  give to there team and there was a guard guarding three balls and the team with one of the big balls had to try hit all three balls of the cone by the way the little balls were on cones we used the big balls and that was my favourite part.

WALT: We are learning to write a persuasive speech.

Do animals deserve the same care as humans?

1. Imagine being some sort of animal sitting in a cage for your life. Well people treat animals like that. Imagine if that was you, would you like to be sitting in a cage for your life? 

2. No, I don't think you would, so you need to stop being cruel to animals. If you have a dog or something that is always tied up let it off for a big run, take it for a walk or something. Help animals and stop being cruel. 

3. Without some animals we would not be alive right now. Stop taking animals homes, like the forest. People cut down all the trees in forests and take everything away from it and then all the animals have no place to live.

4. Imagine a big animal coming into your home and destroying everything. That's how it feels for animals, but animals don't hurt you that much. They might attack you sometimes but that is because you are in their home. 

5. They might think you're going to hurt them and they get scared so they attack but they don't attack for no reason. They only attack or do something for a reason. 

6. If they attack or hurt you, don’t lock them away and start being cruel to them, think about what you have done to cause the attack. Try telling people to stop being cruel to animals and give animals a good home.

7. Also, don’t litter because if you litter all the rubbish will end up in the sea. And if it ends up in the sea all the animals that live in the sea will eat it, and if the animals eat the rubbish they will die. So you need to stop littering and tell people to stop littering. You need to look after animals. Over 1 million marine animals die from litter each year and that is not good, you need to stop littering.  

8. Why do we need to take animals from the wild and lock them up in cages at zoos for people to come and look at them for their entertainment. It is not very nice for the animals.

 9. What if you were that animal in the cage, would you like it if you were locked up in a cage for your life while people look at you?

10. Did you know that there are 600,000 birds and mammals kept in the world's zoos. That is not good, you need to stop doing that and try telling people to stop.         

11. I hope all of us can learn to be more respectful towards things and animals. Animals have feelings and emotions too. They have families too. 

12. We need to stop being cruel to animals, stop killing them and we need to be kind to them and help them. I hope you have all listened carefully to what I've said.                          

Reflection: I liked writing this speech because it will tell people to stop being cruel to animals.

Reflection 2: I found it easy to write my speech because I got some help.

Kiarn's holidays

One day in the holidays it was pouring down with rain. the rain was so,so,so powerful and intense it was crazy! It lasted for the whole 24 hours! It was also really dark outside. the day after that we went for a drive and it was so,so,so,so,so flooded lets go back to the begging of my holidays. the first thing I remember doing was my auntie and uncle and there friends coming up to stay a few nights. so when they came up to stay I went to stay with them and that day it was pouring with rain so we were inside all day. but the day after that,that morning we had basketball training with my uncle and auntie and there friends they were the coaches and we did a few warm up courses.

It was easy to do the writing.

The Seven Sisters Of Matariki

WALT: We are learning about the Myths and Legends of Matariki.

There was once an adventurous old man named Manu who lived with his 7 

brothers in a place called Forest. Manu was the oldest brother, he had 

been raised by his uncle that was named Maku, from him he had learnt 

much Magic. One day Manu and his brothers were hunting out on Mount 

Camel and they heard people singing. They were curious so they followed 

the sound over the hill and they saw the most beautiful women they had 

ever seen. They had long golden hair, and skin so white they shone like 

stars. When the brothers caught the eye of the women Manus brothers 

instantly fell in love all except Manu. He said “these women are not of our 

kind, they are patupaiarehe or fairy women” his brothers took no notice

they were to distracted by the patupaiarehe and brought them back to their

village to make them their wife's. One day Manu decided to hide outside his 

youngest brothers whare. He waited and waited! Manu had almost given up 

when he noticed 6 Tuis sitting close to the whare and he saw a seventh 

one to join the others. Manu transformed himself into a Fantail and 

followed the birds to Kaimoumou when the Tuis reached the Top, Manu 

perched on a tree and watched as they changed form back into women. 

Listening to the patupaiarehe Manu heard of their plan to starve their 

brothers to death. Manu quickly went back to the village to warn the 

brothers of their wife's terrible plan. At first they refused to listen. The 

tohunga gave the brothers a magic net to catch the patupaiarehe. He told 

Manus brothers that they will have to cast the women far far Away in the 

heavens. The next day the brothers hid behind a tree, waiting for the 

women and as the Tuis flew out  the whare each brother sneered the 

patupaiarehe in the net, the heart broken brothers gave the net to Manu 

and he turned into a Albatross carrying the net Manu went to the heavens 

to cast the women far far away from the earth.

It was easy to recreate the story because I could keep going back to the video.

Prodigy

WALT We are learning to have fun in maths.


Prodigy is a fun maths game and I like it because you can rescue cool pets and if you have the member ship you can involve your pets. Also you can level up, the highest level is level 100.

The hardest thing in prodigy is battling other people that are on way higher levels than you because they are alot stronger than you but if you want to try win you have to get your answers right and they have to miss. 

The easiest thing in prodigy is battling the people on lower levels than you. because you are stronger than them but if you get your answers wrong and they get theirs right they will win.

Bug Hotel

Bug Hotel

WALT: We are leaning to identify different materials and equipment needed to build a bug hotel.

Building My Bug Hotel

We gathered wood from around our house. We found Tea Tree, Japanese Cedar and Macrocarpa which is wood that we have collected from my Nana and Poppa’s farm.

In the top box we have hung herbs using metal hooks and string. We also put an air plant in because it doesn’t need soil to grow,  it only needs water to grow.

In the next box we have a birds nest out of our garden. Don’t worry there were no birds in it when we found it. There is also a Flax flower, Palm tree stick, Magnolia bud, and an off-cut of wood.

And finally the last two boxes have bamboo, shells, flowers, Tea Tree and Pine cones.

I enjoyed building the hotel the most.

I found it challenging trying to find things to put in the hotel.

Story starter!

The dinosaurs all gave a simultaneous roar. It was coming…

Moments before, the lake had been quiet and peaceful. As
the golden sun rose above the shadowy, jagged mountains
on the horizon, creatures came from far and wide to enjoy
their early morning drink from the tranquil pool. All they could
hear was the gentle lapping of water and contented grunts as
thirsts were quenched.

Then they had heard them: footsteps in the distance. Thump…
Thump…Thump…It could mean only one thing: a T-Rex…

Can you continue the story of the dinosaurs?

All of a sudden a T-Rex popped out of the bushes. It started
chasing the dinosaurs with lightning speed. The other
dinosaurs were trembling with fear as they were running for
their lives. All of the dinosaurs got away but the T-Rex didn’t
care because he wanted to be a herbivore anyway. So off he
went to eat some luscious green leaves and all the dinosaurs
were happy.

I enjoyed finishing off the story the most.

I found the sentence challenge challenging.
